Personal 2nd Choice to brewing cocoa 1st choice for Cocoffee and Coffee
Add CocoaJoe Brewing Cocoa. Add two level tablespoons of your favorite CocoaJoe into the French press per 8oz. cup that you are going to brew. The more grounds you add, the more full-bodied your Joe will be.
Measure water. Measure a standard 8oz. cup of water for each cup of Joe you wish to brew.
Heat water. Bring water to a boil on stovetop or microwave. I found the hotter the better for Brewing Cocoa. Unlike Coffee, you want to apply a lot of heat to the cocoa grounds to pull as much of the butter and flavor from them as possible.
Add hot water. Immediately (and carefully) pour heated water into the French press over the CocoaJoe.
Stir. Carefully stir the grounds… this helps the extraction of flavor.
Place top and piston on the French Press. DO NOT depress yet.
Let it Steep. Steep ten to twelve minutes then stir again to increase body and flavor. This also tends to make it easier to depress the piston as the grounds will loosen up.
Depress the piston. Making sure the spout is facing forward away from you – then slowly press the piston down until it has reached the bottom of its stroke.
Serve and enjoy! Just as with coffee, adjust to personal taste with creamer and/or sweetener.
